Streamline Client Lookup with Barcodes

FoodBank Manager is designed to make finding returning clients fast and easy using barcodes and scanners. While highly recommended for efficiency, using barcodes and scanners is optional and is not required to use FoodBank Manager effectively.

How Barcodes Work

FoodBank Manager provides a dedicated field in the client record for entering a unique barcode number. When a returning client presents their card, simply scanning the barcode instantly recalls their account for immediate processing.

Hardware Options

You have flexibility in choosing your scanning hardware:

  • You can use standard 1D scanners or more advanced 2D scanners connected to your computer via a USB port.

  • Tablets are best paired with a Bluetooth scanner for wireless operation.

  • 1D scanners are quite inexpensive, starting around $25. 2D scanners are considerably more costly.
